PolyU SPEED Belt and Road Scholarship 2025/26

PolyU SPEED Belt and Road Scholarship 2025/26 for

  • PolyU SPEED Undergraduate Top-up Degree Programmes 
  • PolyU HKCC Associate Degree and Higher Diploma Programmes

 

Introduction

PolyU SPEED is pleased to announce the launch of the PolyU SPEED Belt and Road Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year. This initiative aligns with the HKSAR government's efforts to promote the "Study in Hong Kong" brand, which aims to position Hong Kong as a premier destination for international students and a global education hub. 

 

Objectives

•  Support Outstanding Students: To enable outstanding tertiary/high school graduates from the Belt and Road countries/regions to pursue in Hong Kong 2-year full-time undergraduate top-up degree programmes (senior year admission) at PolyU SPEED and earn a degree awarded by PolyU, a world top 100 university, or 2-year full-time associate degree and higher diploma programmes (sub-degree programmes) at PolyU HKCC and earn a sub-degree awarded by PolyU.
•  Facilitate Educational and Cultural Exchanges: To enhance educational and cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and the Belt and Road countries/regions

 

Who Are Eligible

•    Tertiary graduates (for PolyU SPEED programmes)  and high school graduates (for PolyU HKCC programmes) from the Belt and Road countries/regions with outstanding academic and/or non-academic performance who are admitted to a 2-year full-time undergraduate top-up degree programme (i.e. senior year admission) at PolyU SPEED or a 2-year full-time sub-degree programme at PolyU HKCC in the 2025/26 academic year (September 2025 entry). 

 

Scholarship Amount

•  Either a full-tuition scholarship or a half-tuition scholarship will be awarded based on the academic and/or non-academic performance of individual students

 

Undergraduate Top-up Degree Programmes of PolyU SPEED (i.e. Senior Year Admission)

  • Entrance Requirements

Holder of an Associate Degree / Higher Diploma or an equivalent qualification*.

* An Associate Degree or Higher Diploma obtained in Hong Kong is considered equivalent to the first two years of a four-year bachelor's degree programme.

  • Application Deadline 

Interested students shall submit their applications online at SPEED Online Application For Admission on or before 31 May 2025 to be considered for the PolyU SPEED Belt & Road Scholarship.

 

Sub-Degree Programmes of PolyU HKCC

  • Entrance Requirements (For non-HKDSE candidates)

  • High school graduates from the Belt and Road countries/regions with outstanding academic and/or non-academic performance; OR
  • Qualifications equivalent to those stipulated above; OR
  • For those who do not possess the above-mentioned qualifications but have reached the age of 25 before 1 September in the admission year, they may apply as "mature" applicants.  Mature applicants are expected to demonstrate proficiency in English as well as suitability to study for the programme to the satisfaction of the admission panel.
  • For applicants for Higher Diploma Programmes, relevant and substantial work experience and/or prior qualification(s) obtained in or outside Hong Kong (e.g. assessed through recognition of prior learning and credit accumulation and transfer), with demonstrated ability to undertake sub-degree education

  • Application Deadline 

Interested students shall submit their applications online at HKCC Online Application For Admissionon or before 31 May 2025 to be considered for the PolyU SPEED Belt & Road Scholarship.

 

Due to a longer processing time for non-local students’ admission applications and the requirement to apply for a student visa, the earlier they apply, the higher their chances of receiving the Scholarship.
