Dr Peng is a senior lecturer of the Division of Business and Hospitality Management. He is an Associate Professor and was the chairman of the Department of Hotel Management in Minghsin University of Science and Technology.
His two PhDs training in Business Administration and Computer Science lead him to interdisciplinary fields of research and teaching. His research and teaching interests are in the fields of Hotel and Tourism Management as well as Health Studies. His researches have been published in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He also wrote 4 books and got 5 patents.
Several opportunities to teach, conduct researches and undergo training in various countries have broadened his horizons. He conducted his visiting research in cloud services for medical image processing at the University of Pittsburgh, the USA in 2012. He conducted his visiting research in medical image processing at RWTH Aachen University, Germany in 2011. He was one of the Tourism Elites chosen by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in 2010 to undergo training in hospitality and tourism in the UK. The Taiwan National Science Council sponsored his 5 months’ visiting research at the University of Strathclyde, the UK in 2009. The Ambassador scholarship from the International Rotary Foundation allowed him to conduct postdoctoral research for one year at Syracuse University, the USA from July 2003 to July 2004.
Dr Peng is enthusiastic at teaching; he believes a teacher is one who not only transmits knowledge, dispels confusion, but also inspires students’ lifelong learning for sustainability.
