PolyU CPCE Scholarships and Studentships (for 2024/25 Cohort)

The following scholarships and studentships are applicable to students who are admitted to full-time or part-time PolyU SPEED undergraduate top-up degree programmes leading to a degree awarded by PolyU in the 2024/25 intake cohort.

 

For Students Admitted to Full-time PolyU SPEED Programmes Leading to a Degree Awarded by PolyU in 2024/25 Intake Cohort

(No application is required for the following scholarships/ studentships)
 

Admission Scholarship for Excellent Performance 
Amount HK$60,000 per awardee
RequirementAward GPA ≥ 3.7 in a local Associate Degree / Higher Diploma programme or above qualifications in Hong Kong, or in a bachelor's degree awarded by a world top 100 university

Admission Scholarship for Meritorious Performance
Amount HK$30,000 per awardee
RequirementAward GPA between 2.8 and 3.69 in a local Associate Degree / Higher Diploma programme or above qualifications in Hong Kong, or in a bachelor's degree awarded by a world top 100 university

Lifelong Learning Studentship 
Amount HK$20,000 per awardee
RequirementAward GPA between 2.15 and 2.79 in a local Associate Degree / Higher Diploma programme or above qualifications in Hong Kong, or in a bachelor's degree awarded by a world top 100 university

Progressing Scholarship for Excellent Performance 
Amount HK$40,000 per awardee
RequirementGPA ≥ 3.7 upon completion of Year-1 study on a normal study load in PolyU SPEED

AimTo recognise students' academic achievements
EligibilityFull-time and part-time final year students
RequirementFinal year students who have completed the programme of study within the normal period of registration and attained the highest Award GPA among students of the same programmes and graduation year
ApplicationNo application is required

Outstanding Co-curricular Achievement Scholarship 
Amount Up to HK$10,000 per awardee
AimTo recognise students’ outstanding co-curricular achievements in the areas of services, leadership of student organisations, sports, and arts, etc.
EligibilityFull-time Year-2 students or Part-time Year-2 or above1 students within their normal duration of study, who have achieved a cumulative GPA of not lower than 1.7 in Semester One of the award year
RequirementStudents who can demonstrate track records in the past 2-3 years of active participation in sports, co-curricular activities or performing arts and continuously striving for improvement and excellence

Study Visit Programme Scholarship
Amount Up to HK$12,000
AimTo provide more opportunities for students to widen their horizons and enforce their academic knowledge by subsidising part of their expenses of various mainland China / overseas study visits and cultural exchanges
EligibilityFull-time students 
RequirementPreference goes to students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above in the previous semester (if applicable) and those who have not participated in any outbound tours before. For certain tours, priority will be given to students taking specific programmes or subjects
ApplicationOctober and February every year
Disbursement February and October respectively each year, upon successful completion of overseas activities held during the winter and summer breaks
Mainland/Overseas International Enrichment Scholarship 
Amount Up to HK$45,000
AimTo provide more opportunities for students to participate in mainland China/ overseas summer courses and summer placement by subsidising part of their expenses
EligibilityFull-time Year-1 students 
RequirementStudents who have achieved outstanding academic and co-curricular achievements and have demonstrated good presentation and/or interview performance (if required) during the application process

CPCE Scholarship for PolyU Outstanding Sportsmen 
Amount Up to HK$10,000 per student
AimTo recognise students of PolyU Sports Teams with outstanding sports and academic performance
EligibilityFull-time students who are members of PolyU Sports Teams
RequirementStudents who have attained outstanding sports achievements and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above in the latest semester of study
ApplicationFebruary every year
Disbursement April each year
Learning Support Fund 
Amount Up to HK$10,000 
AimTo help full-time students with financial difficulties by subsidising part of their expenses related to learning support 
EligibilityFull-time students
RequirementStudents who can provide proven evidence of their financial needs
ApplicationFebruary every year
Disbursement June each year

 

Notes

1.    PolyU SPEED part-time undergraduate top-up degree programmes are in 3-year or 4-year normal duration.  For students who are enrolled in a 3-year part-time programme, they are eligible for Progressing Scholarships for up to 2 years, while those enrolled in a 4-year part-time programme, they are eligible for Progressing Scholarships for up to 3 years.
2.    Awardees must be on an active student status (or graduate status) at the time the scholarship is disbursed, with no outstanding tuition fees payable to CPCE / SPEED.  
3.    For awardees who have been approved for “Deferred Study” or “Zero Subject Enrolment” at the time of disbursement, payment will be put on hold until they resume their studies. Upon resumption of study, awardees are required to submit a request to the College Student Affairs Office (CSAO) for reassessment of their scholarship eligibility. This clause applies only to Admission Scholarships / Studentships and Progressing Scholarships.
4.    Students who have disciplinary records will not be eligible for any scholarships / studentships from CPCE. 
5.    CPCE / SPEED will review individual cases to determine student eligibility, including cases involving a change of study mode within the relevant academic year.  
6.    CPCE / SPEED possesses the final right of interpretation and decision regarding the scholarship requirements and student eligibility.
7.    Details of the above scholarships/ studentships are subject to change without prior notice.
