Director's Message

Since its establishment in 1999, the School of Professional Education and Executive Development of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU SPEED) has been a beacon of quality education, shaping the lives of aspiring individuals who are eager to expand their horizons. Our commitment to nurturing the ambitions and catering to the diverse needs of our students remains unwavering.

At the heart of PolyU SPEED's vision and mission is our commitment to crafting professionally-oriented, flexible, and multi-disciplinary educational paths through a comprehensive range of articulation honours degree programmes in two-year full-time mode and four-year part-time mode (the same curriculum can be completed in three-year part time mode for some programmes). These paths are uniquely designed for associate degree and higher diploma graduates as well as working adults who are determined to climb the academic ladder and obtain a degree awarded by PolyU, a world top 100 university. 

A hallmark of our dedication to excellence is the prestigious AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation for all our business programmes, a distinction that makes PolyU SPEED the first self-financed tertiary education institution in Hong Kong to receive this honour, joining ranks with less than 6% of top business schools worldwide accredited by AACSB. Many of our other programmes have also obtained recognition from international professional bodies, underscoring our global relevance and the esteem with which our curriculum is held. Such recognition greatly facilitates our graduates’ further studies and career development, ensuring that a degree awarded by PolyU carries weight and respect in both the academic and professional worlds. Our graduates leave not only with a degree but with a passport to global opportunities.

We understand that theoretical knowledge must be complemented by practical application. Hence, we have forged strong collaborations with industry partners, such as Work-Integrated Education, to ensure our students receive a blend of classroom learning and real-world experience conducive to their employability.

We also place much emphasis on enhancing the holistic development of our students by fostering an environment that encourages the growth of well-rounded individuals—cultivating leadership, critical thinking, and social responsibility, etc.—through a wide array of sponsored extra-curricular activities.

PolyU SPEED works closely with PolyU HKCC to offer seamless educational progression through the PolyU CPCE "2+2" articulation pathway. This initiative encourages secondary school leavers to embark on an academic journey that begins with PolyU HKCC's associate degree or higher diploma programmes and progresses to PolyU SPEED's articulation honours degree programmes and obtain a degree awarded by PolyU. This pathway underscores our shared vision of creating a continuum of learning that supports our students' academic and professional aspirations.
