2026 Summer Internships in Mainland China Hotels
18 Sep 2026
Students from PolyU CPCE’s Division of Business and Hospitality Management have successfully completed the China Internship Programme 2026, gaining invaluable industry exposure and practical learning experience.
Over the course of the programme, the students were placed in nine leading hotels across seven cities in the Chinese mainland, where they developed hands-on expertise in hospitality operations, guest services and workplace practices. Partner hotels provided highly positive feedback, commending the students for their professionalism, adaptability, strong work ethic, and commitment to learning.
Building on these experiences, three students — Wesley Peng Haoyuan, Leo Ng King‑yip, and Cherry Xiao Jie — drew on their internships at Beijing Shangri‑La Shougang Park, China World Summit Wing, and Shangri‑La Dalian to co‑author a research paper on ESG and AI. Their work was presented at the Conference on Generative AI x ESG on 21 August 2026, where they received the Best Paper Award.
The internship programme not only strengthens academia-industry partnerships but also advances students’ academic and professional development, underscoring the College’s commitment to cultivating future leaders in the hospitality industry.
