BHM Professional Talk Series: Security Management at Hong Kong International Airport

On 14 October 2025, PolyU CPCE’s Division of Business and Hospitality Management welcomed Mr Nieman Lok, Assistant Manager of Security Projects at Airport Authority Hong Kong, who delivered a talk titled “Security Management at Hong Kong International Airport – Strategies, Technologies, and Challenges”. The session provided students with an overview of how one of the world’s busiest airports manages security operations while balancing efficiency and passenger experience.
Mr Lok introduced the latest technologies implemented at Hong Kong International Airport, including advanced screening systems, smart surveillance tools, and data-driven risk management approaches. He also highlighted the ongoing challenges of maintaining safety amid evolving global threats and rising passenger volumes. The talk deepened the students’ understanding of the strategic planning and technological innovation that underpin modern airport security management, inspiring them to explore future careers in aviation, safety, and technology.
