PolyU SPEED & CABE International Academic Partnership Renewal Ceremony

On 20 November 2024, PolyU SPEED and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an additional two years, extending their collaboration until 2026. The event took place at the PolyU West Kowloon Campus, with key representatives from both parties in attendance.

The renewal of the MOU was signed by Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP, Director of PolyU SPEED and Associate Dean (Information and Development) of PolyU CPCE and Mr Richard Harral, CEO of CABE. This MOU symbolises the continued commitment of both parties to fostering cooperation in continuing education and academic research.

During the ceremony, Dr James Chau, Associate Division Head of the Division of Science, Engineering and Health Studies of PolyU CPCE, introduced the newly launched "Master of Science in Smart Engineering and Construction*" programme of PolyU SPEED, highlighting its innovative curriculum designed to meet the evolving needs of the industry. Mr Richard Harral provided an overview of CABE's accreditation details and procedures. Both parties discussed potential accreditation opportunities for existing bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes at PolyU SPEED.

* The offering of the programme is subject to the final approval by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in late 2024. There may be modifications to the programme title and curriculum subsequent to the approval.
