On 21 August 2025, PolyU SPEED’s Research Centre for Green Business (RCGB) hosted the RCGB Conference 2025 under the theme “Pathways to Green Business Transition: Advancement and Resilience”. The hybrid event welcomed over 230 participants from around the globe, including leading academics and industry experts.

Prof. Peter Yuen, Dean of PolyU CPCE, opened the conference by highlighting RCGB’s growing impact in sustainability through research, consultancy and education. He underscored the Centre’s dedication to advancing research infrastructure and delivering timely green business solutions. RCGB’s leadership in IFC’s Silver Economy Initiative, on the other hand, exemplifies its high-impact consultancy work.

Beyond research, RCGB places strong emphasis on education and talent development, offering the Master of Science in Green Business Management and mentorship programmes designed to equip students with the skills and mindset to champion sustainability throughout their careers.

The RCGB Conference 2025 served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, continuing the Centre’s tradition of hosting workshops, seminars and public lectures that foster dialogue between academia and industry. The insights and connections forged at the event are set to inspire innovative strategies and strengthen networks essential for advancing resilience in green businesses.

“Green business will continue to be a key engine of economic growth,” said Prof. Yuen. “Its successful transition depends on interdisciplinary education and strong partnerships between academia and industry—both locally and globally, Looking ahead, RCGB will build on its strong foundation, further leveraging collective expertise to deliver effective and practical solutions to the challenges facing industries, businesses and communities.”
