Tourism Student Showcases Language and Professional Skills at Korean Cultural Event

On 25 June 2026, Lo Tsz-wai Cherie, a student of PolyU SPEED’s BBA (Hons) in Tourism Services Operations and Management programme, showcased professional skills and language proficiency at the 2026 Youth Peace and Unification Golden Bell quiz competition, held at the Korean International School in Hong Kong.

Having recently completed the Practical Korean for Tourism Professionals course, Cherie contributed to the event by assisting with on-site operations and guiding participants. Organised by the Hong Kong Chapter of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council, the competition brought together 76 Korean secondary students to enhance their knowledge of Korean history, culture, and the values of peace and unification.

Under the guidance of Dr Lee Hyun-ju, Lecturer at the Division of Languages and Communication of PolyU CPCE, and the event’s main quiz presenter, Cherie applied her classroom learning in a real-world cultural setting. Building on this experience, Cherie will begin an internship at Sejong Consulting / Sejong CPA Alliance in Hong Kong on 17 August 2026. The placement will provide her with practical exposure to a Korean corporate environment, further strengthening her expertise in tourism services operations and management.
