05 Dec 2022
PolyU SPEED obtained about HK$2.4 million in funding from the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) under the Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund for its project “AI-Assisted Academic Writing Platform: An Interactive Cross-Disciplinary English Feedback System”.
This project aims to provide all-round supervisory support that is unconstrained by time and location for students to improve their disciplinary academic writing performance. Specifically speaking, this platform aims to nurture a virtual learning community, improve assessment experience for teaching staff, strengthen English across the curriculum, and ensure the quality of teaching and grading.
One of the most useful features of this platform is the incorporation of AI text analytics technology. The AI-assisted platform will also feature diversified functions to support self-directed learning and feedback communication. To sum up, this AI-assisted platform will not only promote a learning environment for students, but also enhance the assessment quality and feedback communication from English language teachers.
