Participating students got a unique opportunity to go on board to a new cruise, “Genting Dream”, in order to understand the latest development of the cruise industry.

The one-night cruise study tour organised by Discipline of Hospitality and Tourism, PolyU SPEED, was held successfully from 2nd to 3rd November, 2017. 74 students from PolyU SPEED Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Travel Industry Management went on board to, “Genting Dream”, a cruise debuted in November 2016. They have participated in various activities and benefited a lot.

In the night aboard, participating students had dinner, as well as enjoying the cruise show “The Voyage of a Lover’s Dream”. Apart from watching the wonderful performance, students had also shared their ideas about the Asian cruise industry. Before leaving the cruise in the next morning, students got the chance to join an operational tour led by cruise staff and visit different facilities and cabins in the cruise.

Through participating in this event, students have gained certain knowledge and concepts of the cruise industry, including the current trend of the Asian cruise design as well as the cruise product and the life onboard, which are very important for their future career development.
