Programme Features
You will be equipped with fundamental knowledge and skills in the inter-disciplinary professions of land use, property development and construction management for your future employment and lifelong learning
After graduation, you will enter the Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Planning and Development, Property and Facility Management or General Practice Surveying profession as a trainee with full potential to become a full-fledged professional surveyor. Eventually, you will take a leading and strategic role in the profession and business of land use, property development and construction management and make contributions to the community
You will be taught with the disciplines of economics, law, management and technology related to surveying studies

Professional Recognition
The BSc (Hons) in Surveying (Top-up programme) has been professionally accredited by the following leading institutions:
- The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS)*
- Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- The Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM)
- Property Management Services Authority (PMSA)**
Building on the success and reputation of the well-established top-up programme and the strong demand for the associate degree programme, the School has launched a new 4-year full-time undergraduate programme in surveying.
The application to extend the professional accreditations^ to cover the full 4-year curriculum is currently in progress.
* The accreditation by the HKIS covers five surveying divisions including the Building Surveying (BS) Division, General Practice (GP) Division, Planning and Development (PD) Division, Property and Facility Management (PFM) Division as well as Quantity Surveying (QS) Division.
**This programme is recognised as a specified degree in property management by the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) and graduates can apply for property management practitioner (PMP) (Tier 1) Licence upon fulfilling relevant requirements of PMSA.
^Accreditation for the 4-year programme is subject to approval by the respective professional institutions.
Future Prospects
Career Prospect
Graduates are able to pursue a wide range of careers, including Graduate/ Assistant Surveyor in the disciplines of Building Surveying, General Practice, Planning and Development, Property and Facility Management, Quantity Surveying or Management Trainee in the real estate and construction sector.
The average starting salary of graduates was around HK$23,000 in 2022*.

Further Study Opportunities
Past graduates have pursued postgraduate studies in famous local and overseas universities, such as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The University of Hong Kong and The University College London.
Programme Structure
The programme of study consists of 123 credits. All students are also required to complete 176 hours of non-credit-bearing Work-Integrated Education component.

Entrance Requirements
For HKDSE qualification holders:
- Level 3 in Chinese Language and English Language;
- Level 2 in Mathematics;
- “Attained” level in Citizenship and Social Development; and
- Level 2 or “Attained” level in one elective.
For holders of other qualifications:
- The equivalents of the above requirements.
For those who do not possess the above-mentioned qualifications but have reached the age of 25 before 1 September in the admission year, they may apply as “mature” applicants. They must demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to indicate a high probability of being able to complete the programme successfully.
